Sorry to bore you all but i am one proud mammy and just want to share our day with you all.
Arrived at the Parliemnt building, not sure how as my directions werent listened to as the satnav was on but after going round in circles for the umpteenth time i wsa asked where the hell is it. So we gets there and there's no parking so CB and me jumped out the car and left my Mum and her partner to figure out where to park. We entered the building and had to go through securtiy, then i remembered what happened to the parliment on the 5th of november and thought yeah i don't mind being frisked on this occasion. We made our way past the visitors desk and straight to the MSP appointment desk. felt really nervous so golly knows what was going through CB's mind. We were directed to a waiting area full of peeps all dressed in fancy suits, The MSP's secretery cam edown and met us and took us back to securtiy to get the behind the scenes passes. Then it was off to the debating chambers. for Ministers question time. I'll be honest i did'nt have a scoob what was happening apart from alot of Msp's arguing, banging tables and shouting but it was really interesting watching them squirm to get out of answering questions head on. We were met after the question time by Margaret the secretery and took to the offices where CB was getting her award. Oh i should say that when we were waiting to be met my mum and side kick came into the visitors centre for a nose about and they were taken aside and asked if they would like to be taken upstairs after we left to see CB getting her award, so it was a nice surprise for cb and i to see them and a nice surprise for them too. The leader of the Labour Prty came down Iain Grey and took Brooke aside told her how proud he was of her and i started bubbling like a 2 year old. He gave a wee speech infront of a dozen or so staff members gave CB a huge hug and wished us all well. Cathie Cragie was brilliant, with her then excused herself as she had to go back for debating time. Margaret then took us round a tour of the buildings, we went into the presiding officers building and we were told the history of it. Yeah i know the Prlie is only 6 years old but they incorporated some Dukes house into it, cant remember the dukes name, told us how the room we were standing in was haunted, he had a son who was mad and one night they couldnt find the son, so they scoured the house and finally found him in the kitchen sitting infront of the fire with his servant on a scewer getting roasted above the open fire, so now the servant haunts the room. We cam eout of there and got told about various things like where the design for the floors beams etc came from, all very interesting facts but my mum turned round and said very bluntly. it is nice inside but it looks an eyesore outside and you can't justify to me the 400 million it cost to build, Mummsie is very straight to the point kinda girl. Then off to the debating chambers before the MSP's returned for round 2, CB got to sit in Alex Salmonds seat and we were told again about the materials used and how it all works, why there are 2 clocks and the amount of time each person is allowed to talk for etc. I knwo you are all getting bored by now, that's if youve got this far but it was very intre4sting. We left the chambers and went to another part of the building again getting told about various features where they came from why they were there, one of the things i really liked and i will have to google this is a sculptur eon a wall, over a hundered women were asked to right down a short sentence and the sculptor crafted marble in the womens hand writing, some of the sentences were hilarious one that stands out was "my my friend comes round for tea i don't know wheter to get the silver out or lock it away" We finished our tour and thanked Margeret for making the day wonderful. Gave CB some spends so she could go into the gift shop, we now have new decorations for the christmas tree a load of edinburger rock and keyrings. It really was a great day and i am full of information about wood, marble, granite and other features within the Scottish Parlie buildings.
CB had an abosoloutly fantabulous time and was overwhelmed by it all. I have never seen her stuck for words or as shy as she was but she was so well behaved and well spoken that i am so proud of her for what she done for me all those months ago that lead us to be there yesterday.

Doc told me that the spray can take a few days to kick in, im not even sure if she's on the right medicine as it says on the bottle not to take if under 18 erm she's 9 so i'm waiting on the doc phoning me back to reassure me that it's fine. Doc also told us that with the anoids (i think thats what there called) being swollen the nose will keep producing mucas to clear the block but the anoids will continue to swell as the mucas irritates them. All night it's been snort and sniff to the point she was being sick with it. Were going into the debating chamber tomorow and i have read the rules about behaviour whilst there, no talking no bags no NOISE, can just see Alec Salmond looking up into the public gallery now and telling the security guard to remove the child with the sniffy nose. Bless her wee cotton socks, her dad was/is the same, he used to sleep sitting up, bit like the elephant man..oh if only her dad would remove the pillows for a night of lying down. Carebear says the spray smells like play do so i sprayed some on the back of my hand, it reminded me of speed with that sharp cats pee smell, lol no wonder i was up half the night iwas speeding out my tree.
She also says she is now ok about the new little cousin she is going to get but the other cousin will always be her favorite, she also wishes that the baby would either be born earlier or that if sil had to have another baby then she would prefer it if it was next year she fell pregnant, i was really confussed about this, it's all to do with the holiday and wedding in Greece next summer, she explained that sil and brother wouldnt be there as the baby wil be to young to travel therefore she will be stuck with my mum and her partner for 2 weeks on her peapod. Asked her how she would feel if i was to have another, she told me straight faced and very serious "mum you need a man for that and you havent got one, unless your name is Mary then it's not going to happen" Kids are great at getting straight to the point.

A joyous occasion you would think but the wee barras nose was pt right out of place. I thought she would have been delighted as she is close to my brother and sil. Finally got to the bottom of it, she will have to share her Granny with another child, Now my brother doesnt exactly live round the corner, tr down the m73 and then the m6 to Bradford. We on the other hand live about 4 streets away from my Mum. Tried to reassure her that granny has enough love to share between the 3 of them. Thank goodness i will bear no more children as i think she would probably murder me in my sleep.
This kinda spured feeling deep inside of me, one i havent spoke to my brother since february and i would back down and he's as stubborn as me so he wont back down so thats a bit of a brick wal hit. Seriously if we were to have a staring out competition we would need medical treatment as we would rather sew our eye lids open then cave in. Secondly this will now be my fathers 6th grandchild, and he has'nt seen any of them in over 6 years +, the youngest he has never seen, not even sure if he knows about her. I wil never forgive my dad for what he done to CB, i'm older so i don't really care anymore what he done to me or any other adult within our little clan but he blanked CB when she was 3 after she ran up to him in tescos with her tiny arms held out for a hug. Ignore me by all means, ignore my daughter and i will never let it be forgotton. So the last few hours have been spent thinking about the old trout. He's in his 70's now, no idea where he lives or even if he's alive, i dread the day i get a call saying he's no longer on this earth as i aint paying for no funeral, would'nt even waste a pound in a cheap shop buying plastic flowers for him.
Need to get a more reliable source for the internet, neighbour was out all night and must have turned off his connection, i havent been staying up all night waiting on the light going on, i just simply could'nt sleep, not complaining the radio is rather good at this time of the morning with the exposure show so lots of new random bands to look out for.

Got the nasel spray and more creams for her ezema then off to the chemist. Was a 30 min wait so we decided to go a wee strool about the shopping centre to find her an outfit for Thursday. I don't normally ask for help in shops but the woman was busying herself around us, the kids section is next to the door and we kept setting off the alarm so to put her mind at ease that i was'nt ging to blag the clothes i told her my daughter needed something smart but casual as she is going to a special appointment oon Thursday. They had CB in the fitting rooms and kept bringing up nice outfits, in the end she had 3 assistants running after her. Fashion show in Next it certainly was, They were even going out the back of the shop and getting stuff that should'nt be on sale yet. In the end CB settled for a black dress with some colour in the skirt part, a pair of black leggings , a black shrug and black full length coat. Was only 66 pound and the coat will do her over winter and new year and the dress can be worn again at all the christmas partys so the overal price was'nt to bad. They did'nt have sohoes she wanted so we went into dunnes and the ones she picked were reduced to 4 quid. Can honestly say she looks gorgeous in her outfit and it's not ott. The girls in NEXT were great and i think CB could easily turn into a diva now with everyone running about after her every needs

Next morning he asked me to move in with him, again i said no. I wonder where or what i would be doing now if i had said yes. Thinking on it, i've been married and it was'nt a happy one, the whole thing took longer to organise than the actual marrige lasted..yip married in March wanted a divorce in the October. I wonder what would have happened if we had'nt parted. Then there's C.B'S dad, lived with him or he lived with me for 4 years, now if he had got his act together i wonder what i would be doing now. Seems for my 33 years i have been in a few serious relationships where it does'nt go anywhere. Then there was J, i'm glad we did'nt get that mortgage now. I wonder how many more relationships i will have before i find a soulmate or if indeed i ever do.
I'm not going all i want a b/f on you so don't worry and if truth be told i don't know if little miss independant here could handle a proper relationship. In the past few years i have seen good friends split up and divorce who i thought were solid, that saying you never know what goes on behind closed doors is so true.
C.B's dad has been trying to reach her all afternoon, i can't even speak to the wimp so i just keep hitting reject, i wonder how long it wil take before i can have a civil conversaton with im or even if i want to have one with him. Out of all my past relationships he's the only one who i have to have a contact number for, I wonder if that 41 bus that drives down his street will ever crash into him.
I wonder if asda has any of there black roses left, i have black roses already in my kitchen but the emo chick in me loves me. I wonder if tomorrow it will be raining, i woNder if on thursday it might be better to get the train rather than my mum driving us in. I wonder if i can be annoyed to pull the sewing machine out and fix her school trousers tonight. Lots of things to wonder about

Went to bed around 1ish then yp again at 2 because sleep would'nt come even though my eyes were tired. Heard the party gooers coming back about 4ish and singing very badly. Obvioulsy not ereyone knew where the after after party was as you could hear them all shouting at each other and making phone calls. At one point i heard someone say "thats D's house" but my nest was in darkness so thankfully they never chapped my door. Now reverse a right few hours, Party number 1 finished at back of midnight and i had told someone i would drop them off as my taxi route was on the way, so went to phone a taxi and of course being young meant that at least one person started an argument, could'nt go anywhere as the big yin wanted to go sort it leaving me with her youngest. Happily everything was resolved with a few different taxi's coming and taking the numptys away, Birthday girl said it did'nt spoil her night so i'm pleased about that. I did consider going to party number 2 but when i realised who would all be there i decided home was best as they had drank to much and would no doubt end up with someone bickering, and these were peeps older than me, to be honest i can't do the whole partying on with carebear in tow (wer eloads of kids going onto party 2 as it was in a house and the could all crash out on beds etc but carebear does'nt like me drinking so we opted for home. Party number 3 sounded good even if the singing was crap but heard no trouble and everyone ws in good spirits..or on spirits. I only got up and danced once last night, so not like me but i wsa having realy interesting chat and the time flew by so when Loch Lomond came on carebear looked at me from across the hall with her gothic eyes and i could'nt resist a wee jig. Carebear had a fab time, loads of kids so they seemed to be having there own party, they grabbed loads of food from the buffet and cans of juice and set up camp at a different table where no adults were allowed unless it wsa to hand over food or juice. The costumes were amazing, only a few did'nt dress up and as each new person entered the hall the d.j make a little joke...all in good fun of course. Bit worried about the big yin, she put her homemade beard on with carpet glue and so much fake tan, could posibly end up in a trip to the hospital today, no really once she sobers up and tries to get the beard off she's going to fel it, can't wait to see how long the fake tan takes to come off as only half her face is bronzed up.
Oh taxi going there, really thought i wsa going to get it for free, driver could'nt keep his eyes on the road, i wore a really long coat but still my legs managed to escape, thankfully i was holding the birthday cake so not to much was reveled, damn that b'day cake i could have saved a fiver lol.

Have to say i am looking forward to it, Carebear is going away to Legoland with Grandma for the week so i'll be on a diet of the good stuff and instead of seeing imaginary leprachauns sitting on mushrooms i'll be seeing the real deal, we are skimping a bit and taking tents with us but i don't really care where i lay my head the fact is i will be facing a fear and knowing there will be a pint of the good stuff at the other end i can conquer it. Plus once i get over the first experience and have my passport then carebear and me can go camping anywhere we want instead of this beautiful country. I always said i would never go abroad whilst i had'nt seen all of my gorgeos Scotland bt i think weve camped in every field, swam in every loch and danced by a fire in every beach.

She text me esterday and asked if i was still going to give her a loan of it, i told her yeah but the cheque won't be clear til the Monday, now she's being all weird with me, i went round last night and asked her wh she was being weird and she told me she was relling on it to buy her daughter a prezzie for her 18th which is tomorrow, i apologised told her that i wold'nt even be going to the party as i only have a tenner to see me and C.B through the weekend. Whilst thinking about it last night and feeling pretty shit that i did'nt have it i started getting really pist off, she's had 18 years to get a prezzie organised bt was rellying on me to bail her out. So now she is'nt talking to me, well she is but not ntil she comes out of this cream puff and lifts her dummy back up to her pram. I have bailed her out so many times over the years and for all she thanks me for it she has never got her act together with finances.

So i was loking forward to the party etc but to be honest i've got my eye's on a new pair of boots (hush puppies foxhound if you fancy a google search) Carebear has her big day next Thursday and i want to buy her a really nice outfit and realy make the whole day special, so i would rather spend the money on her than get pist in a hall full of teenagers. Carebears cool with the fact were not going as she's going out trick or treating with a few friends and then back to mine for a sugar filled night of spooky films and a sleepover.

I do feel crappy that the big yin feels i've let her down but as i've said it's not as if her daughter turning 18 has suddenly bitten her on the arse, she managed 2 weeks in Egupt last month and has put down a deposit to go back over new year so she can't be that short of a bob or two....but i'm going to look fab in my new boots with my brown suede skirt next thursday standing proudly beside my daughter at the Scottish Parlie

I could take the woman up on her offer of meeting up and helping me with it but next week is going to be chaotic and i don't know if i can fit it in.

Last night was a nightmare, i was helping out at the school disco, i hate dance music, 2 hours of the shit i endured even C.B was complaining her ears were sore, mine were bloody bleeding, why can't kids listen to proper bands instead of helium filled smurfs?

Watched XMEN never watched any of them before but have to admmit i was pretty impressed, missed the very end of it though as C.B came down stairs to tell me to turn it down, so whats the ending? And was that Kelsey Grammer that played the blue fur ball? I rather liek him as an actor so i'll be wel chufed if it was.

OOOpppps better get my butt in gear and face the wrath of not completing 3 weeks worth of homework in a week, electrics just cut out too, 3o flippin quid i put in it last thursday it's just not right, will have to phone them, since this new meter has went in my electric payments has went up by about 35% a week grrr

Had a good go at this other corse work and there is no way i'm going to get it all done by Thursday, have visitors tomorrow for the whole day so can't do it then, was at a thing last night with C.B, it's a family cooking course and for all i am a confident cook i thoght it would be nice for us both to share an experience. The cooking thing was in my old work, it's the first time i've been back there and i'm tempted to phone them up and tell them to re hire me as the place was a shocking state. Done a sneaky and took my keys that i never handed in when i left so we could access more stuff like oven trays. Anyhows we made lasagne, not as nice as what we normaly make but it saved me having to wreck my own kitchen. Right i must get up off my boney arse and get washed and dressed. It's also pissing down but hey it's scotland it's meant to rain

Ifact i only had about 6 pints but i do remember having several attempts at walking up the steps outside my house at about 4 o'clock this morning. Well it would have been 3 o'clock i think..i don't know. I will blame it on the fact that several pubs were visited and not just one. In one of the pubs they also have a nightclb and the wee bird behind the bar asked if we wanted tickets for upstairs, Its a foam party you's wil love it, gave it a miss, i don't do clubbing and have no reason to want to get covered in foam on such a cold night. Half way through the evening i remembered i was meant to be at a 40th, oopsies.
Left the last pub at closing time so that must have been around 1ish then back to my mates house just to round off the night, I don't know if her plants are still alive but everytime she left the room they got feed with cider. I can't drink cider, used to in my youth but i just can't stomach it now.
A good night was had, i stayed in my bed til half 4, knowing i had to get up before carebear came home. Asked her what she wanted for her dinner, mince and tatties, there was no way on earth i could have stood over the stove and made that so shes having steak pie, mash and veg. I am on Andrews liver salts. School uniform has still to be ironed baths to be ran and all the other usual sunday night antics.
What is it wih asda? Do they watch people coming in and think oh they look nicely hungover, lets get the person with the most high pitched voice to shout random crap through the speakers, and wh why do the self scan tills shout at you, please recheck item, put item aside, place money in slot, take your shopping. Do these things not have a volume control switch?

Have had plans since last julaugust that we will be going out tonight for a few beers and a catch up. Sat in on my peepod last night exchanging texts with ex boytoy..he text me first. Told him if i had'nt had made plans then i would've came through and seen him. For peeps who don't know we split up because the traveling back and fourth was horrendous, took up tp 4 hours getting home at times. So for all we are no longer together there is no ill feelings.
Big yin phones today to find out what time were ging out at, we decided on half 6, had m shower ironed my clothes, yeah i know i should have ironed then went in for a shower. Made a dinner full of carbs so the alcohol would absorb and i would'nt be mangles on 2 pints. So why the freckles am i still sat in the house at this time? cause big yin is sitting playing solitare on her pc eating a bacon sandwich and chilled out with her jim jams on. I have gave her half an hour to get her act together or else i'm just going to go and put mine on and veg infront of the box.
Now if i was in a selfish frame of mind last night i would've cancelled tonight and went through to see boytoy and stayed the weekend.
I am as you can imagine a tad peeved off

The postal strike is affecting us all. At this time of year we have came to expect it. When i worked for the council we went on strike for better pay, if you have a 1 or 2 day strike the union pay you something like 7 pound a day, if it's 3 days then the union paid you what your daily pay would be calculated as. I will be honest and say after a few one day strikes i came out the union as i could'nt aford to be loosing several days pay here and there. I was called for everything going into work when others in the same job as me were out, but unless you pay my rent and sole provider then don't even go there with me. My theory is that next week the dispute with the postal workers will be sorted to some degree as the union don't want to shelling out millions. With the Royal mail not having to pay the workers for 2 days this week and what they have accumulated in the past 2 days with interest then the workers pay rise is just about covered. The price of postage stamps have recently went up so basically the royal mail will not be running at a lose.

I have also been on many websites over the last few days looking for something and many sites are using private couriers but p&p has gone up by a few quid so even online stores are going to be effected. I am not even going to go into ebay til this dispute is over as i don't want parcels getting lost in the backlog.

I am all for the postal workers standing up for their rights as they do deliver a good service but i know with a 3 day strike pending the union bosses will be wanting this resolved even if it means back tracking a bit

He got annialated and rightly so in my opinion. I have no idea where the scots hating the english and vice versa came from, well i do i just don't know how it got installed in my young brain, I have no problems with anyone half my family are english or live there, my grandmother was Lithuanian and my grandfather russian and thats just on my mums side. Glasweigan and irish on my dads side and you all know my ex inlaws race and religion, so really i'm not even a true blood scot. I noticed this particular party leader contiually refered to his party as english even though they are British. I can honeslty say that yes he his taught to a higher education than myself but for life skills well i just got an honory degree from oxford cambridge st. andrews harvard and all the other top scholer universitys, i would not want my child to be taught by any member of his party as my child will not row up to be a repressed hating person. I wonder if he will ask to be put forward for the panel in future.

C.B has been up and down all night, i think my dreadful lurgy has gotten to her, bless her wee cotton socks she's still sleeping. Phoned her school and out of 19 pupils in her class less than half are there at present. Bit of a bugger as i really wanted to go and see the doc this morning, i was walking home from a friends house last night and the lighting is so poor that i did'nt see the uneven slabs, i fear i will have to give up on my little sannies and pumps forever and start wearing something that gives more support. When the icy days come i will no doubt become a hermit for fear of this stupid bloody ankle snapping right off. Stupid things like i will no longer be able to go hiking and such like filled my head most of the night.

Pot of homemade soup for us today i think and blankets not forgetting a box of tissues, vicks calpol.....feck i've got MANFLU

I really enjoy this course and i did dither yesterday weather to continue it as an intrest instead of going for my certificate. I will plough through as much as i possibly can over the next week and the tutor woman was lovely and said if i wanted she could come through one afternoon and help me if i get stuck or don't understand what i'm meant to be doing. I knew i was running behind in this clas but i did'nt realise i had missed so much. There is only 2 weeks of it left and i won't be at the last one as it's C.B's special da at the parlie so i'll have to do double next week along with any bits of snagging that needs done. I also have homework from the childcare course i'm doing and i have a practical assesment next week for the nail thing too. I have gave up on the assertive course as i have bitten off more than i can chew but i did'nt feel i was gaining anthing from that. Although i'm currently not in paid employment i do voluntry work 2 nights a week and my mornings are filled with various things up at the education centre, once 3 o'clock comes i am full time mum bottle washer skivvy etc. My afternoons are filled with housework ironing shopping blogland etc. I'm still doing my bit and others at the community garden. I will persever til after christmas and then reavaluate what is important and what i can shift around. Right i'm off to get my head in a book and start to weedle my way through all the work i have to catch up on.

I have now been in positions that i thought were only used in the heat of passion but no apparently not. I am scared to unclench my butt cheeks incase something dreadful happens. I am a pretty fit chick but how do you get your head under your knees whilst standing on one leg and have your arms like your ready to kill an ex with a crossbow. Was good fun though and i might just might get a wee yoga mat for next week.

Wee update, BDA asked me yesterday how the lone parent group thing was going. I'm the kinda person that if someone says they will do it i wont push them but i did today. After finishing the speakeasy course on Thursdays then we can go ahead with it. The town hall will be made available to us aswell as the use of there kitchen so we are planning on doing it at lunchtimes for 2 hours, that way we can have different peeps in and be creative on a food budget. I have loads of ideas rolling round my head for various things to do but please feel free to give me more suggestions. This is going to an ongoing group unlike the other bits and bobs i do that only last a few weeks or months. I will also obviously share any tips i get with you all (see i do like you all) that i think will be of any use.

Hunger has arrived since my vivacios workout so am off to make some chicken fried rice .

In seriousness though i was up at a mates having tea this afternoon, she had no coffee and i could'nt be arsed going to the shop so i had tea. She was telling me that a few times when she's been taking her youngest to nursery she has seen carebear running down the steps after the school bell has rung. Since going into P.6 i have let her walk to and from school herself, she leaves the house 15-20 minutes before the bell goes and trust me it takes less than 3 minutes to walk to her school so she has plenty of time to mess about. Lately she has been going in for one of her friends but even doing this she should still get there in plenty of time. I went to meet her at school today just because my mate stays close to it and i thought it would be a nice gesture. Then i thought nah, i will just go into the office and find out how often she has been late since August. School secretary told me she will get a copy printed off and send it to me. Now if it had been a few times then i reacon Mrs whatsherface would have said but no i'm getting a full print out. Ickle me thinks i might just have to start walking her up again in the mornings as i don't want her getting a reputation of being late and at the end of the day as a parent it's my responsibility to ensure she is at school on time.
