I sat down today at the youth club and decided that from now til we close up for christmas holidays what we will be doing. Thought stain glass windows would be nice, card and tissue paper and glue and for those who dont want to do that window paints, a wee poly pocket and approriate paints. Discovered some little picture frames in the cupboard so with the school pics just been done the kids can decorate them and put one of the passport size photos in and hey presto christmas pressie for a family member. The were going to do little trinket boxes, very easy to make with sheets of a4 paper, following week little snowglobes to put them in then it's christmas cards and decorations. This should take us up to the end of term. First week back in the new year and its going to be chinese lanterns. I have everything that is needed in the store cupboard so no need to spend any cash, was talking to my boss and suggested that when the grant money comes through we buy the kids a wee thing for under the tree, nothing much just a wee bag of sweets, might even just go to one of the supermarkets and buy a couple of tins and make up favor bags with a selection in.
I'm not entirely sure when i was made a youth leader but the new tee i got today has my name on it and youth leader underneath it so yeee me. I am in my opinion rubbish at arts and crafts but since summer it has been my job to ensure the kids have a variety of things to do in the art corner, i'm secretly enjoying it as i'm really not keen on the sports hall, love it when were doing sports day in summer but not every week.
