With the hydro connect festival, its a very family friendly festival,i havent stopped raving about it all day to people in my work, there were no neds (chavs) no throwing of bottles or cups of wee, there was a bit full of picnic bences,a whisky bar,an oyster bar,2 stages and numerous tents pls a spa, they even gave us ponco's when we arrived as it was raining, how lovely and sweet the place was,ive never beeen to a civilised festival before.you didnt have to ask people to move as there was plenty of space it really is a great place to take kids too.
Didnt see alot of bands just mainly the ones we went fro although we did watch a few in the unsigned stage (my apologies there was 2 biggish stages and an ickle un) and watch another few in the speakeasy cafe, which at night when the music finishes turns into a comedy tent and they sold real filter coffee and none of that rip off powdered crap.
Even though it rained through the day it really didnt put a dampner on things we laughed at the kids wellies getting stuck in the mud so they didnt get frustrated we climed trees (not allowed to do that apparently) My daughter got high shoulders and she rocked ive never seen her so overwhemled and excited at the same time, and as fro Gomez well there her new favorite band of all time.
Had a bit of an upset with the boytoy though,on the way up he was speaking about plans for his 30th and told me that he was going to have a party the saturday before it,i had asked him ages ago if he wanted gig tickets to dirty pretty things for that date and he said no so i just got tickets fro me and a mate so when i reminded him of this he went in a bit of a strop, last week he told me how he was going out for a family meal around about teh time of his birthday and he mentioned loads of peeps apart from me but i was mature about it (well in frot of him anyway) so as he was kindly telling me how let down he felt about me going out with mimi i gently reminded him thta the previous day we had spoke four times on the phone and nevr once wished me a happy birthday, thank god the bus took an hour and forty minutes as the stroops were out the way by the time we got to invarary.
But honestly peeps its a great place to go if youve got kids and love music the atmospheres superb and every one is very very friendly.
