We had a problem with mice and tried using humane traps, but the little buggers never took any of the various baits we laid for them, so we tried The Big Cheese(R) ultrasonic mouse and rat repellers, which seem to control them a bit more.

4 for about £19.99 from Robert Dyas.
Hope this helps.
It's either that or get a cat!

unfortunatly (or fortunatly ,depending on your view of teenagers) the ultrasonic devices can be heard by children under a certain age, hence the reason all these shops are getting them installed.so thats a no go.the cat sounds a good idea but guess the one thing im scared of,yip cats
